Autism Nighttime Routine

autism No Comments »

Abbie’s nightime routine isn’t all that different from everybody else”s except she is learning life skills during hers.
It would be so much easier in the moment to just do everything for my daughter that she struggles with but it will be harder for her and for us later on in life. We use these daily living experiences to teach her the life skills she needs to grow and thrive. Not every night looks like this. Sometimes she just falls asleep wherever she’s at and we get her to her room doing our best not to wake her up too much. This is an ideal night routine.

Life with autism | DW Documentary (Autism documentary)

Markus is autistic. The documentary follows him for a year and shows what it’s like to live with autism. He’ll probably never grow up, nor does he want to.

“Most people don’t understand that, even my parents think it’s bad,” says Markus. He spends a lot of his time playing with toys, while also dealing with the struggle for his father’s acceptance, and the question of what he can contribute to society. The documentary follows Markus for a year.

“I don’t want to be normal and part of the herd. I want to live how I want.” Markus lives in Duisburg in western Germany. His home is completely cluttered with toys, including noisy motion-activated frogs, a singing Elvis and an angry snowman that tells you to watch it! Markus plays happily with his toys for hours, listening to children’s stories and drinking hot chocolate. Despite his autism, he does allow people to get close. He has an eccentric style, with a Prince Valiant haircut, a laser pointer round his neck and colorful plastic figures clutched in his hand. Markus’s father in particular wants him to grow up. His mother takes good care of him, but she encourages him to go out and meet other people more. She worries he could become lonely. That’s how he discovered his love of people with Down Syndrome, who he calls his Downies. “They take me as I am. They don’t question my ways. That’s a nice feeling.” This documentary refers to questions as: what is autism? What are signs and symptoms of autism? How do autistic people behave?

Overcome Social Anxiety Using These 3 Techniques (Try This)

social anxiety No Comments »

This video will transform the way you see and feel about social anxiety while also give techniques for moving through it. Overcoming Social Anxiety is about going with and changing the way you relate to other people and the way you see yourself. This video gives those tools and techniuqes.

“Welcome back to another video. My name is Aaron, and I help people expand their consciousness. Now in this video I’ll be sharing with you how to overcome social anxiety and three techniques to help you do that.

“Now with this process, and something I think you can just find so powerful, is knowing that many times when we feel anxiety, anxiety could easily be the emotion of excitement if we took the judgment and the label off of it. It’s the idea that any time we experience something new, i.e. we’re in a social environment and we’re around new people, and we then have the feeling of anxiety, it could simply be the feeling of excitement. It’s just going through a belief system, it’s going through a filter in our mind, that converts it into a negative thing. It’s almost like that negative definition itself is what causes the anxiety to begin with. I haven’t even got into the three techniques I’m going to share, but that alone can allow you to really transmute it from being that feeling of anxiety to sitting there and saying, “Wait a minute, could this be excitement for something new, and is there some type of negative definition I’m imposing on this feeling, and therefore getting that result?”

“Now I’ve been someone that’s felt social anxiety many times before, and especially because of the way that I grew up. Let me give you a little backstory real quick. Between the ages of me being about 9 to 15, my dad was married to someone that was my ex-step-mom. She was very intense when it comes to discipline. We were allowed to watch TV before. We were allowed to have friends before. All of a sudden, when they got married, we weren’t allowed to watch television, we weren’t allowed to have friends, and all we were really allowed to do was yard work, house work, or go to school. It was like a very military-type style.

“Between that time, of course we went to school, of course we still had interaction there, but we weren’t able to really have that casual interaction of being socially at a party or something like that. Then 15 came around and a little bit before that my dad divorced her. When that happened, all of a sudden me and my brother are very excited because we’re allowed to have friends, we’re allowed to watch TV, which was something we weren’t allowed to do for that whole period in our life, and I had to learn how to relate to people. I had to learn how to not be so anxious around other people.

“I remember, looking back at this, maybe I didn’t know all this information now, but when I look back at this, one thing that really helped me go through, which is the first one I’m going to share with you, is to change the story that you tell yourself and to change the attachment that you have. If you go out into public and you always believe that you feel anxiety when you’re around other people, it’s almost like you’ve been conditioning yourself to feel that emotion where you could simply decide you are going to change that story. As you change the story and you simply realize, hey, I’m just going to decide right now that that doesn’t have to have power over me in the present moment, that’s when things began to shift.

“For a period of time I was always thinking to myself, “I lost this period of my childhood and I wasn’t around people.” I realized that that didn’t help me, and that, in a way, influenced or emphasized that kind of experience. I remember, even if I went to a party with friends that were already my friends after I started making friends, I would still feel that anxiety. It always came from making it all about me. When I would go somewhere I’d put all the focus on what will other people think about me. But the moment I decided to put that energy out to simply have fun, have more of a sharing-type vibe, which is just loosening up about it, that’s when things really began to change. But I had to let go of that story and I had to be more present to the moment.

“Now the second technique I have for you involves understanding how to simply loosen up and have fun. Now the reason I say this is because, a lot of times when we’re in and feeling social anxiety, it’s coming simply from such a seriousness, like life is so serious. It doesn’t have to be. Life can be more fun. Life can be something that we learn how to really ping off other people and collaborate with other people. To do that, one technique you can use is to simply decide to start laughing more often. See things as funny, because then, when you go into that social environment, you can see that the anxiety itself is kind of funny. Maybe you realize that you can just talk to other people…

How to Overcome Shyness and Transform your Personality

How to Overcome Shyness and Transform your Personality

Welcome back to another video. My name is Aaron, and I help people expand their consciousness. Now in this video, I’ll be sharing with you how to overcome shyness and how to really transform your personality. Now as I’ve said in couple prior videos, our personality is what creates our personal reality, and that was something that I learned from one of Dr. Joe Dispenza’s books, and it was something that really allowed me to understand how our reality is created and how if we really want to change something, we must first go within in order to then see the reflection of something new that we want to experience. Now our personality is formed through reference experiences through certain times in our life, many times when we were young, to where something happened to where maybe subconsciously we just simply decided that this was safer, or this is who we are, so shyness a lot of times comes from an inhibition from being able to express parts of ourselves, from believing that if we do, something bad will happen.

“For me, it was something growing up where, or especially in school when it came to public speaking for example, I had to really learn to overcome that, because I had an experience of getting in front of the class and then starting to do a presentation and then just completely looking out at everyone and blanking out and not knowing what to say, so that was something that I had to learn from that experience. I had to reframe it and then simply decide that I was going to take action to then wire in a new state of being or a new connotation about it.

“The power of this whole video, and what I want to express with being able to overcome shyness, is realizing first off that our self image and the way that we view ourselves is something that we will always do our best to remain consistent to, so if you see yourself as someone that’s shy, it’s going to involve you having to change the way you see yourself to stop identifying as somebody that is simply shy. Now being shy doesn’t have to be a negative thing. It’s not a negative thing to be an introvert, but the point at which it becomes something that’s not beneficial is when we feel like we’re not expressing ourselves, so if we’re at a dinner with friends and family, or we’re out and about in a public place, and we want to say something, but we feel like we shouldn’t or can’t, that inhibition, that filter, is something that we can learn to remove by simply knowing some of these things that I’m sharing.

“First off, just simply becoming aware of the reference experience that that memory came from, and if you don’t know that exact reference experience, simply know that that shyness is something that comes from some experience that when we decided that that’s just safer, that’s just who we are. When we become aware that that’s where it came from, we can then simply make the decision that from this point going forward, we choose to see ourself in a new light. When we visualize ourself and even think about ourself, start to tag in the ability to see yourself as somebody that just expresses themself, somebody that is not afraid to do and say what you want. As you start to see yourself in that way, through repetition, which may mean that you have to do that as a visualization exercise maybe so many times a week, and as you consistently do it, it gets easier and easier to see yourself like that, and then the next part of this is just simply you are going to take action and doing things that you normally wouldn’t do.

“You see, to get out of that autopilot mind of that shyness or that self image that we have that that’s just who we are, we must start to get into the unknown. We must start to take action and doing things we maybe normally wouldn’t have done, so maybe next time you are invited to go do something that you would normally say no to, say yes to it, and just simply start to engage with more people and more things you could be doing, so the engagement of when you go out and if you push yourself to talk to people, the first thing you’ll find is that it’s not what you thought. It’s not like people judge you as much as you think that they would. It’s not like people are going to even reject you, but as you continue to push yourself to talk to other people, you’ll find that the more you do it, the more you wire in this new level of your personality which then will change your personal reality, so…
